One of the things I want to keep is my Poser Libarary info with all its multiple pointers to external file links. Please don't let my Poser Game Developer Die.Please?Īlso from the Smith Micro site. I've pasted the info from the Smith Micro site immediately below following this post: Someone (Baggins Bill, maybe?) correct me if I'm wrong. I'm running PPro2014 Game Developer, but I'm told Poser 11 and Pro have this file as well. I also make a special back-up of the LibraryPrefs.xml file as upgrades to Poser can wipe it out. I think I even have my Poser5 runtime intact and accessible in the library. For my earlier Poser stuff I just wrote in the file path were my Poser9 runtime was located and had no problem. I just temporarily rename the xml extension as text and then edit the file in a text editor such as notepad, wordpad or word, saving it as text. I was just thinking I could save the time it would take to move all the content from my P9 Library to my PP11 Library, but if necessary, then I guess that's the route I'll have to take.Īre you Mac or Windows? In windows there is a file called "LibraryPrefs.xml" It is basically a listing of all the Poser Runtimes that tells Poser where to look for them. In the meantime, except for updating to Poser Pro 11, I would recommend doing nothing until the release next month. Perhaps someone else can help you with those questions. I have not kept up with the process and policies for users who wish to continue using PP2014 and/or Game Dev.

If you have not purchased an upgrade to Poser 11 (at some point) you will not have Poser 11 even after the updates that are being tested for release next month. I'm really hoping that this update will go smoothly.įirst, you can see what version of software you are using by going to Help>About Poser on the Main Menu.

This how my license code/ serial looks XNB0CUD-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxĭo I need to install the current Download Manager? The download manager version i have currently installed is 1.0 - same number as what is on I assume that my current version of Poser Pro that I have installed is an upgrade from 2014 to Poser 11 Pro. Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but, do I need to install the current version of the Download Manager that's on this site It's been a few years since I did any sort of update on my Poser Pro installation in any way, and that would include the download manager. I'm still a little confused by what's being said. I use the External Library option, so it maybe possible. Hmmmm, I wonder if my PP11 would "recognize" my P9 Library even if the software no longer worked. I just prefer keeping them separate for several reasons. I prefer leaving them separate, but if need be, I suppose I could slowly reinstall everything into PP11.

I still have my Poser 9 installed, but I didn't "upgrade" from P9 to PP11, so the need for the license key to get a new installation to work when I get a new laptop doesn't apply to me, but I'm interested in whether or not I'll have to move everything in that Library to PP11's Library. Though PP2014 was expensive so I do want my copy to work.

Maybe the update will make upgraded versions full licenses to make it easier. I upgraded from PP2014 and when I re-installed PP11 after my computer rebuild, I needed my old PP2014 key in order to activate PP11.
